Breaking: Eagles Re-Sign Lightning-Fast WR with 4.35 Speed Just One Day After Cutting Him a Month Ago

Posted on August 1, 2025 by sportsmars60@gmail.com

It’s been a bit of a journey for undrafted free agent wide receiver Ife Adeyi.

The Philadelphia Eagles originally signed him on June 5th, after rookie minicamp, but then they waived him on June 6. That didn’t last long.

Well this week, the Eagles have inked Adeyi to a contract again, according to transactions reporter Aaron Wilson.

This time, maybe the speedy wide receiver can stick around.

The product of Sam Houston State runs a 4.35-second 40-yard dash.

He spent six seasons at Sam Houston State.

With the Bearkats, Adeyi had 2,312 yards (164 catches) with 19 touchdowns. He also ran for four touchdowns.

Adeyi is a little guy, just 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds.

The speedy Adeyi is a Texas kid, growing up in Mansfield in the Longhorn state. He was a three-star recruit in high school and a track state champion on 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams.

Two of Adeyi’s brothers also played Division I football.

It’s the time of year when teams shuffle players around pretty freely.

The good sign here for Adeyi is that the Eagles remembered him. His rookie minicamp made enough of an impression to bring him around not just once, but again nearly two months later.

Adeyi may not make the Eagles’ roster right now, but he’s proven he’s on their mind. And for an undrafted player from a small school, that’s a key skill to have.

Philadelphia has great top-end receivers in A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith. Even if Adeyi can’t make the team, he’ll have the chance to learn from two NFL stars. That could make a big difference for him down the line, too, since it seems like teams will be willing to take a chance on his speed.
