POTTSBORO, Texas (KXII) – A former wide receiver for the University of Texas Longhorns football team was arrested in Grayson County overnight Thursday.
Jail records show Johntay Cook, of DeSoto, was arrested for possessing less than two ounces of marijuana by Pottsboro Police and booked into the Grayson County Jail Friday morning.
Cook was arrested a little over a week ago in Fort Worth on misdemeanor theft and interfering with public duties charges.
Cook spent the past two seasons at Texas, where he appeared in 19 games in Austin and posted 16 receptions for 273 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Longhorns.
Cook was a former five-star prospect out of DeSoto. He opted to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal following the 2024 season.
