Most of the conversation surrounding Mayo so far has been about the immaturity and lack of experience that he and some members of his staff showed from the start of last offseason to the Week 18 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

On Friday, Mayo’s wife, Chantel, took to social media to share her thoughts through a pair of Instagram stories.

“It never even crossed our minds to tell the truth… but I couldn’t even fathom all the lies we’ve read that are being told to save face,” she posted. “What happened to class?

“We’ve been taking the high road and letting everyone do their thing since Sunday. But playing with someone’s name won’t be tolerated. I bet the fake stories will stop before the real ones start.”

Jerod Mayo has yet to say anything himself since his departure, but if more and more leaks keep coming out from coaches, players and executives, he may feel compelled to share his side of the story.
