The Georgia Bulldogs made the trip to the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff, but were eliminated in the quarterfinal round. Georgia suffered a 23-10 loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the quarterfinals, following a first round bye.
Head coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs finished the 2024 college football season with an 11-3 record with a 6-2 mark in SEC play.
While they had a successful year in the standard of many college football teams across the nation, it was a disappointing season for Smart and the Bulldogs. Georgia won the national title in 2021 and 2022. Smart has been forming a dynasty with the Bulldogs, but 2024 was a different story.
On Sunday, Georgia added salt to the wound. Starting kick and punt returner Anthony Evans announced this intention to enter the transfer portal, per Hayes Fawcett.
Evans served the team’s starter in kick and punt returns as well as the backup slot receiver to Dominic Lovett. During the 2024 college football season, Evans recorded nine receptions and 88 yards. In his two-year career with the Bulldogs, beginning in 2023, Evans produced one touchdown and 123 yards on 13 receptions.
