The Toronto Blue Jays continue to make some minor off-season moves.
The team announced it signed left-handed reliever Josh Walker to a one-year contract worth $760,000 on Friday.
Right-hander Hagen Danner was designated for assignment.
Walker, 30, spent the majority of last season playing for triple-A Syracuse, though did make 10 appearances for the Mets in 2024. He was traded mid-season to the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he spent the remainder of his season with their triple-A affiliate.
In his 10 big-league appearances last season, Walker pitched to a 5.11 ERA with 11 strikeouts and six walks in 12.1 innings.
Per Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith, Walker still has a minor-league option year remaining on his contract, which gives the Blue Jays flexibility when it comes to choosing their Opening Day roster.
In 37.2 innings in the minors last season, Walker posted a 4.06 ERA with 50 strikeouts and 22 walks.
