overall recruit has begun visiting his top schools this spring. That included the Ohio State Buckeyes. It is safe to say the Buckeyes visit for offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell went very well. “Had a great time at Ohio State over the last two days!” Cantwell tweeted on March 22 as a caption to two photos from his visit.
The first photo included Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day standing in as the “H” to help the Cantwell family form the signature “O-H-I-O” sign. According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Cantwell is the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2026 class.
He’s also the class’ consensus top prospect at offensive tackle and in Missouri. On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported on March 17 that the Miami Hurricanes and Georgia Bulldogs are the top two favorites to land Cantwell. But it’s always possible his visit to Ohio State changed things.
The Michigan Wolverines, Missouri Tigers and Oregon Ducks are also in the mix. Cantwell is scheduled to visit all of his top contenders this summer. Last year, Gatorade announced Cantwell as its 2024-25 Missouri Football Player of the Year.
