Raheem Mostert brings experience to need position

The Las Vegas Raiders have dipped into the free-agent market at a big need position as they have signed former Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert according to Fox Sports.
NFL Media reported Mostert has agreed to terms on a $2.1 million one-year deal. It continues a trend this week for the Raiders of signing players to short contracts at modest prices.
Mostert will likely be a rotational running back. The Raiders were connected to Pittsburgh Steelers’ tailback Najee Harris but he ended up with the Los Angeles Chargers. The veteran running back market wasn’t great to start with and quickly thinned. Going into Thursday, the top options were considered to be J.K. Dobbins and Nick Chubb.
The Raiders are hoping Mostert can get back to his 2023 form when he had 1,012 rushing yards and 21 touchdown (18 rushing) for the Dolphins.
Mostert, mostly a career journeyman in 10-season NFL career, played 13 games last season and had 278 yards rushing. he has dealt with injuries often in his career. Mostert played one game under new Las Vegas offensive coordinator Chip Kelly in San Francisco in 2016.
Mostert is 32 and it continues a trend of this new Raiders’ regime added older players to the 4-13 roster they inherited. Quarterback, guard Alex Cappa, Mostert, defensive back Lonnie Johnson and linebacker Elandon Roberts will all be, at least, 30 during this season.
Mostert, who played against new Raiders’ coach Pete Carroll in the NFC West for five full seasons, joins Zamir White, Sincere McCormick, Chris Collier, Dylan Laube and Isaiah Spiller on the Raiders’ running back roster. Ameer Abdullah and Alexander Mattison are free agents.
