In his latest mock draft for Newsweek, Gavino Borquez has the Browns taking the first quarterback in the draft – but it’s not Shedeur Sanders. Instead, he predicts the Browns will select Cam Ward from Miami.

“The Browns find their franchise quarterback,” Borquez writes. “Ward will need to work on limiting turnover-worthy plays, but Cleveland should be intrigued by his potential as he has great command of the offense, arm talent, and athleticism.”

Many may scoff at the Browns taking a quarterback in the first round and would rather opt to take the best player available. However, it’s certainly a possibility they go with a quarterback. And if anything, it would a direct acknowledgement that the Deshaun Watson era is over
