Taliese Fuaga’s status is up in the air for the New Orleans Saints’ Week 2 road game against the Dallas Cowboys.

But considering the fact that Fuaga didn’t practice either Thursday or Friday because of back tightness, the rookie left tackle’s uncertain availability should probably be seen as a good thing.

“I feel good about him, but we’ll see how he is the next couple of days,” coach Dennis Allen said.

Fuaga is coming off a superb Saints debut, in which he helped pave the way for a ground attack that picked up 180 yards. The Saints offensive line also gave quarterback Derek Carr time to operate, allowing the fewest pressures in Week 1. Fuaga also dealt with back tightness in training camp, forcing him to miss a preseason game. To Allen’s knowledge, this is not something he dealt with in college.

He is one of five Saints who are officially questionable against the Cowboys, with the others being Marshon Lattimore (hamstring), defensive tackle Bryan Bresee (illness), defensive end Isaiah Foskey (back) and linebacker Jaylan Ford (hamstring).

Defensive tackle Khalen Saunders (calf) and linebacker D’Marco Jackson (calf) were ruled out.

Lattimore is the other big question mark for the Saints. He did not practice this week after suffering his hamstring injury in the second half against the Panthers in Week 1, but Allen wanted to keep the possibility of him playing open.

“Obviously you’ve got to decide whether a guy is going to make the trip or not, but my plan is Lattimore is on the trip, we’ll see where he’s at on game day,” Allen said.

Both Foskey and Bresee did not show up on the injury report until Friday.

On the Cowboys side, two tight ends had game status designations: Jake Ferguson (knee) is doubtful, while John Stephens (hamstring) is out.
