Lucas Giolito: “I don’t love 6-man rotations. I feel like when I’m in a good groove of that 4-day rest, that feels right for me personally. I’m not going to be holding a picket sign, if it benefits the team, I get it.”
Craig Breslow discusses the Red Sox offseason so far
In his last season pitching in 2023, Giolito put up a 4.88 ERA and an 8-15 record with 204 strikeouts while playing for three different teams.
Hopefully Giolito comes around to the idea, because it might actually benefit him, and the team. Giolito has a career 1.5 HR/9, which is pretty high. Since he gets one less start, that means less home runs given up by the Sox.
After a season of recovery, Giolito is back in the mix. Here’s hoping he bounces back and becomes a valuable pitcher to the Red Sox.
