“I’ve been fortunate enough to see some really good arms here the last four years, but I think Garrett was the most dominant pitcher at any given time that I’ve ever seen.”
In the past four years, the White Sox had stellar pitchers in Dylan Cease, Lance Lynn, and Lucas Giolito. All of them had their prime years with the White Sox, and Katz is convinced Crochet is better than all of them.
This past season, Crochet put up a 3.58 ERA with 209 strikeouts, and had a ridiculous K/9 of 12.9. He also did all of this on an innings restriction, not playing more than four or five innings a game.
Hopefully, with the Red Sox’s top-of-the-line medical staff, and their great pitching coach Andrew Bailey, Crochet becomes even better than Katz dreamed of.
