The Boston Red Sox losing out on the biggest ace left on the market in Corbin Burnes hurt, but that doesn’t mean there’s no studs left to grab. According to MLB.com, the Red Sox are a potential landing spot for international ace, Roki Sasaki.
Sasaki is probably the biggest name left on the market, and for good reason. He dominated in the NPB, with an ERA of 2.02, and a record of 30-15. He also was the youngest pitcher ever to throw a perfect game in the NPB.
However, the Sox have yet to get a meeting with the ace, and are still waiting for one. It’s a little distressing that they haven’t, considering they have used a decent amount of resources scouting him.
According to Chris Cotillo, Sasaki will be meeting with more teams in January. Hopefully the Sox can get one then, and show Sasaki his future home should be in Boston.
