The Princess of Wales seemed to send a sweet message to her youngest child, Prince Louis, when she stepped out for the women’s singles final at Wimbledon in 2023.

Kate wowed the crowds as she arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London to watch Czech player Marketa Vondrousova take on Tunisian Ons Jabeur for the Ladies title. The royal wore a £420 lime green midi-dress from Self Portrait featuring a short sleeve blazer-inspired bouclé bodice and a pleated chiffon skirt. She paired her ensemble with nude suede pumps by Gianvito Rossi, which she matched to an Emmy London chain clutch

And eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot a very special accessory Kate had chosen on the day. The Princess wore a gorgeous pair of floral earrings to Centre Court – Cavalfiore Pear Studs by British jewellery designer Cassandra Goad. The earrings have quite a price tag too, available to order from £4,360. Kate has only worn the earrings in public once before – at Prince Louis’s christening back in 2018.

On that occasion, she wore a cream dress by Alexander McQueen with puffed sleeves and midi-length hem, which perfectly complemented her son’s replica Honiton white lace gown. She completed the look with a dramatic Jane Taylor headpiece. The earrings are certainly special. Upon closer look, each pearl features its own small diamond in the centre surrounded by gold. The designer’s website reveals the earrings are: “Cavolfiore studs in 18ct yellow gold and set with seven pearls set with diamonds (0.3cts). Inspired by the clusters of young flower stalks of the cauliflower (cavolfiore) in the market. From the Journey to Sicily.”

The Princess is an undisputed style icon, who is praised for her ability to mix high-end pieces with high-street favourites. And, having worn her pricey floral earrings to the women’s final, she mixed things up the following day with budget-friendly jewels costing just £45. Kate continued her Wimbledon style streak in surprisingly affordable earrings when she attended the 2023 Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final alongside Prince WilliamPrince George and Princess Charlotte. She wore a pair of gold and green drops from the London-based brand Milina, costing £45.

They are available in both a sterling silver and an 18k gold-plated version, with green onyx stones, set on easy to wear hooks. And the brand also sells the same pair of earrings with different coloured stones, spanning purple amethyst to royal blue chalcedony. It wasn’t just her earrings that caught fans’ attention. Along with a emerald-green midi dress by Roland Mouret, an Emmy London clutch bag and nude Gianvito Rossi heels, Kate accessorised with an aquamarine and gold bangle from Royal Warrant holder Halcyon Days – another relatively affordable jewellery pick costing just £150.
