BREAKING: Jim Bowden Drops Stunning And Powerful Message That Sends Fans Into Frenzy..Full Details Below.

Sean Murphy stands as the Braves’ most valuable potential trade piece right now. He’s one of the top five catchers in the league, currently on a hot streak, and under team control through 2029. Naturally, teams have reached out about his availability, but those discussions don’t appear to be progressing.Ozzie Albies Braves

The Braves, however, favor a two-catcher setup, allowing both players to stay fresh during the grueling summer stretch. Offensively, both Murphy and Drake Baldwin have performed well enough to justify splitting time between catcher and designated hitter roles. Atlanta has recently begun testing that strategy, and early returns have been encouraging. The team likely wants to continue that experiment rather than rush into a major trade that might set back their long-term goals.

As for other players, the Braves are unlikely to entertain offers for Austin Riley, Matt Olson, or Ronald Acuña Jr.—and rightly so. That leaves Michael Harris II and Ozzie Albies as the only somewhat plausible trade candidates. Harris has struggled significantly this season, severely diminishing his trade value. According to The Athletic’s Jim Bowden, Atlanta intends to spend the remainder of 2025 trying to get him back on track. If he doesn’t improve, he could be a trade chip in the offseason.

Bowden also notes that the Braves aren’t actively shopping Albies but are open to listening, particularly if a team like the Astros—who are seeking a left-handed-hitting second baseman—shows strong interest. Albies had an excellent series to open the second half, hitting two home runs and driving in nine runs against the Yankees. With his résumé as a three-time All-Star, he’ll likely draw interest. But are the Braves ready to part ways?

Albies is still under team control through 2027, with club options at just $7 million for 2026 and 2027. That’s an incredible value. Unless a team makes an overwhelming offer or Atlanta has lost confidence in his long-term future, it makes more sense to see if his recent surge is the beginning of a rebound.
