Red Sox get: Bo Bichette
Blue Jays get: Wilyer Abreu, Kutter Crawford, Vaughn Grissom, Yoelin Cespedes
This past season, Bichette only played half the season due to a slew of injuries. However, the year before he was a true stud. He hit .306/.339/.475/.814 with 30 doubles and 20 home runs.
This trade would only work if Bichette signed an extension, and with the current way the Sox are operating, a miracle would need to happen. Bichette is projected to get a seven-year, $151 million dollar contract after this season, and that’s the lowball amount.
The Sox would definitely not be interested in paying for that when they have Marcelo Mayer and Kristian Campbell coming up the pipeline, plus they would give up way too much for just one year of him.
Although, anything is possible. They could work out something, and then the Sox get a young All-Star who’s a proven righty slugger.
