Bryson Stott has the game of his life on the same day he welcomes his newborn baby

Posted on July 24, 2025 by sportsmars60@gmail.com
Bryson Stott

Bryson Stott had himself a day — both on the field and off it. Hours after welcoming his second child into the world Wednesday morning, the Phillies second baseman rolled up to Citizens Bank Park, skipped the paternity list, changed his walk-up song for the first time in his career… and then proceeded to dominate.

Rob Thomson originally planned to give Stott the night off. Completely reasonable. You just had a kid, take a beat. But Stott wasn’t trying to miss a game — and honestly, after what we saw Wednesday, he might’ve made the right call.

Instead of his usual walk-up anthem “AOK” by Tai Verdes, Stott stepped to the plate with “Buy a Boy a Baseball” by Granger Smith playing through the speakers — a pretty emotional nod to his newborn son. First pitch he saw? Ripped it down the right-field line for a double. Few minutes later? He’s stealing third before the pitcher even realizes what’s happening. Next at-bat? Solo homer to right. Just casually giving the Phillies a 5-0 lead like he didn’t just become a father that morning.

Bryson Stott Might Never Go Back to His Old Walk-Up Song

It was the first time in his big-league career that Bryson Stott didn’t walk out to “AOK,” and if we’re being honest, he might want to stick with the dad-energy playlist from here on out. Kid was playing possessed — like he was fueled by pure adrenaline and a hospital vending machine granola bar.

And yeah, Jesus Luzardo melted down in the 5th and the game went sideways, but that’s not the point. This night belonged to Bryson Stott.

Between the baby, the song change, the double, the steal, and the homer — it’s one of those “write it into the script” kind of games. A moment only baseball delivers.

Congrats to the Stotts. Philly’s got another future ballplayer in the building.
