The 2024 SEC Championship Game had a storybook ending. Georgia beat Texas 22-19 in overtime, and secured a first-round bye and College Football Playoff bid. But the victory didn’t come without drama.
On Georgia’s last play before halftime, Bulldogs starting quarterback Carson Beck took a big hit, and didn’t return for the entire second half.
The Dawgs’ QB No. 2 was Gunner Stockton, who has been at Georgia since 2022. Coming off the bench, Stockton helped lead Georgia to an SEC title game victory. Although Beck had to come in for the game-winning touchdown play due to Stockton’s helmet popping off, Stockton played a huge role in UGA’s victory.
Stockton finished the game with 71 yards passing, eight rushing yards and an interception. Let’s find out a little more about Stockton, his backstory and career at Georgia so far.
