Many people believe that the Bulldogs are one of the best teams in the country, but they suffered a few disappointing losses during the season to drop them down the rankings. Nevertheless, Georgia is in the Playoff as the Bulldogs look to win their third title in four years.
Here is a look at where Georgia stands heading into the College Football Playoff.

Who will Georgia play next?
Since Georgia won the SEC Championship game, the team earned a bye through the first round of games. The Bulldogs will automatically advance to the quarterfinals and play in the Sugar Bowl on Wednesday, Jan. 1, and they will get the winner of one of the first-round games.
Georgia officially earned the No. 2. seed and will face No. 7 Notre Dame, which beat No. 10 Indiana, 27-17, on Friday night in the opening round
Here a look at Georgia’s next opponent:
Notre Dame
Notre Dame (12-1) earned the No. 7 seed after a near-perfect season with one distinct blemish. The Irish’s only loss came against Northern Illinois, a stunning upset that damaged their playoff hopes but ultimately didn’t crush them.
It wasn’t possible for Notre Dame to earn a first-round bye, as they aren’t in a conference and therefore can’t win a conference championship, but the Irish move on to face the Georgia Bulldogs after taking care of business against Indiana.
