Novak Djokovic will return to action for the first time since the Paris Olympics and will wear a brand-new outfit for the 2024 US Open.
The entry list for the final Grand Slam of the season is already known, and Djokovic will be among the strong favorites to win a 25th Grand Slam title and is guaranteed to be among the top three seeds at the tournament.
This year’s US Open will be historic and innovative. It will offer record prize money in all rounds of the competition, with the organizers committing the largest purse in history, worth a staggering $75 million. Additionally, Video Review technology will be utilized in multiple tennis courts.
It will be Djokovic’s first tournament back after clinching a gold medal at the Olympic Games earlier this month with a victory over Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz. He is the fifth player to complete the famed and rare Golden Slam and ends his longest title drought since 2005.
As in any buildup to a Grand slam, there is always a buzz within tennis circles about what the top players will wear at the event. So, clothing and footwear sponsors have a benchmark to set when it comes to producing high-quality tennis gear.
The Serb’s tennis ensemble has been revealed on the internet. It features the color blue, which is associated with the US Open and its courts. Djokovic will be wearing a light blue Lacoste polo shirt with a distinctive design.
The front of the shirt is characterized by some geometric patterns in navy blue. The top has a collar with buttons, which is usually the former World No. 1’s preference for athletic style.
Djokvic’s deep blue mid-thigh-length shorts are presumably made from flexible fabric, which allows him to slide and retrieve his shots comfortably.
The 37-year-old’s footwear sponsor, ASICS, has also collaborated with Lacoste to create a new pair of navy blue shoes with white accents. To complement his new look, he will wear white socks.
Fans will be anxious to see Djokovic’s new outfit on a match court during his blockbuster doubles exhibition next week. He will partner four-time US Open champion John McEnroe to face Carlos Alcaraz and Andre Agassi as part of a featured event on Fan Week.

The US Open will be Djokovic’s 10th tournament of the season. He decided against playing in Montreal and Cincinnati to rest after an emotionally exhausting couple of weeks in Paris, where he became the first Serbian to win a tennis gold medal at the Olympics.
Djokovic is the defending champion at the US Open, although he has not won a Grand Slam this year. He lost his most recent one in the final at Wimbledon to Alcaraz in straight sets.
This will be his 18th participation in the New York major. He made his debut in 2005 and reached the third round. It is also the tournament where he made his first Grand Slam final in 2007, losing to Roger Federer.
Djokovic has won the US Open four times in his career, which is the second most in history among male players. Only Federer has more (5).
