49ers get Nick Bosa the present he’s needed for a very long time in latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Nick Bosa was in the news for non-football reasons in the wake of the San Francisco 49ers’ win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
But, on the field, it was a familiar story for the Niners’ star pass rusher, who led the way in terms of disrupting Dak Prescott while receiving only sporadic support, with impressive rotational defensive lineman Sam Okuayinonu providing the main source of assistance.
The Niners hoped the signing of veteran Leonard Floyd would fix the issue of a lack of help for Bosa. Floyd has three sacks, but it’s clear the 49ers still need to find a long-term running mate for one of their best defensive players.
A to Z Sports’ Ryan Roberts has them doing just that in his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft.
Having used NFL Mock Draft Database to compile the draft order, Roberts has the 49ers using the 14th overall pick on Texas A&M defensive end Nic Scourton.
Roberts wrote of the Scourton pick: “Can we finally get a partner in crime to go along with Nick Bosa? Scourton is dense and powerful at 6-4 and 285 pounds. He’s really settling in after transferring over from Purdue this past offseason.”
Standing at 6ft 4in and 280 pounds, Scourton has followed up a 10-sack season in his final year with Purdue by racking up five so far for the Aggies, while also tallying 13 tackles for loss.
Only 20 years old, acquiring Scourton’s explosiveness and clear proclivity for production for the long term would set the 49ers’ pass rush up for success for years to come and finally take some of a considerable burden off Bosa’s shoulders.
