Roy Keane has questioned Arsenal‘s mentality after Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta‘s side risked falling seven points behind the league-leading Reds if they suffered defeat to Arne Slot’s team. But Bukayo Saka’s fine finish early on gave Arsenal the lead.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk went on to equalise before Mikel Merino headed in to put the Gunners 2-1 up at half-time. However, Mohammed Salah’s second-half equaliser, after several injury-enforced substitutions, saw the points shared in north London.

And former Manchester United captain Keane has offered his verdict on Sunday’s fixture. The pundit shared his concern for Arteta’s team when it comes to competing with reigning champions Manchester City.

“I’m starting to worry about this Arsenal mentality,” he told Sky Sports. “Now you’re 2-1 up, and you’ve still got to try and win the game.

“But there’s elements of Arsenal now and it’s happened most of the season when they get themselves in front. Never mind excuses about injuries or being down to 10 men, they all seem to sit back in as if we’ll settle for 2-1, we’ll try and get something on the set piece instead of going, go and get the third goal because Liverpool were there for the taking of wanted to go for it.
