Arsenal fans have been left fuming with former Liverpool striker Michael Owen after his comments following their 2-2 draw against Man City on Sunday (22 September).
The pundit claimed on his personal Twitter account that Mikel Arteta’s reaction and comments after the game were “poor yet again,” as he added that Man City were the only team “hard done by.”
The Gunners saw Leandro Trossard sent off for a second yellow card after he kicked the ball away, marking the second time this season the club have been punished by this rule.
Arsenal were ultimately unable to hang onto their 2-1 lead as John Stones scored in the dying embers of the game to rescue a point for his team.
However, Owen felt that Michael Oliver allowed the game to restart too quickly in the build-up to Arsenal’s equaliser in the first half.
His social media comments were met by a flurry of furious Arsenal fans who completely disagreed with his assessment of the situation.
