James Middleton has shared an emotional tribute to his sister, the Princess of Wales, as she revealed she has finished her course of chemotherapy with an intimate family video.
The entrepreneur, who has very rarely commented on his relationship with Kate Middleton in public, posted a message of support to the Princess hours after her video message was released this week. Sharing a comment on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram, he wrote, ‘I couldn’t be more proud.’
Ever the supportive sibling, James has commented on each of the Princess’ statements about her cancer journey as they have been released on social media. The father-of-one was among the first to send a public message of encouragement to Kate Middleton after she announced her cancer diagnosis in March. The entrepreneur posted a rare childhood photo with his sister, with a heartfelt caption, writing: ‘Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family we will climb this one with you too’. When the Princess issued a statement for followers ahead of her triumphant return to public life at Trooping the Colour, James led the tributes for the royal.
He commented a simple love heart under older sister Kate’s moving Instagram statement, in which the Princess detailed her ‘good days’ when she feels able to ‘engage with school life and spend personal time on the things that give her energy and positivity’, as well as the ‘bad days’ when she feels ‘weak and tired.’
He previously said in a rare interview that the Princess is ‘blossoming’ in her role as future queen. ‘She’s my sister, and I see her as my sister. I’m extremely proud. I’m always taken aback by how much she does do, and that does always continue to stay at the forefront of my mind,’ he told Good Morning Britain. ‘But to be honest, she’s my sister, so I know all of her quirks and everything and to see her blossoming in that role, I’m very proud of her.’
